YMCA Corporate Challenge 2025: A Night of Teamwork, Racing, and Community Spirit

Binghamton, NY — June 12, 2025
Tonight’s YMCA Corporate Challenge at SUNY Broome was a resounding success, bringing together dozens of local businesses for a memorable evening of competition, camaraderie, and corporate pride.

From the first whistle at 5:15 p.m. to the last cheers during the Executive Mile, the event was filled with energy and enthusiasm. Participants gave it their all across four exciting races: the 5K Road Race, Predicted Mile, Relay Race, and Executive Mile—each offering a unique challenge for runners of all abilities and roles within their companies.

Race Highlights

  • The Universal Instruments 5K Road Race kicked off the evening, sending runners on a scenic 3.1-mile loop around the SUNY Broome campus.

  • The UHS Predicted Mile brought fun strategy into the mix, as participants tried to match their self-predicted times—without watches or music.

  • The Delta Engineers Relay Race showcased team dynamics, with groups of three completing a mile each, including the requirement of one female and one 40+ team member.

  • The night wrapped up with the Mirabito Cares Executive Mile, where senior leadership took the spotlight to show that leadership means leading by example.

Team Spirit and Community Impact

In true Corporate Challenge tradition, teams didn’t just race—they represented. From custom t-shirts to creative cheering sections, the GHS Federal Credit Union “Team Spirit Award” recognized the team that best embodied support, enthusiasm, and good sportsmanship.

Points were awarded in each event based on finish placement within company size divisions (Small, Medium, Large), and trophies were given to the top teams and individual performers. The event brought a wonderful mix of competition and connection, reminding us all that the workplace can be a source of strength, wellness, and fun.

Thank You to Sponsors and Participants

The YMCA of Broome County, along with presenting sponsor Harding Brooks Insurance and other event partners, extends a heartfelt thank you to every runner, volunteer, and business that made this evening possible. Together, we proved once again that when we run together, we thrive together.
