Keep Grinding Coffee Company Sponsors Loop the Lemur Ultra Running Race
Keep Grinding Coffee Company is thrilled to announce its sponsorship of the upcoming Loop the Lemur Running Race, organized by Confluence Running. The race is set to take place at the Ross Park Zoo in Binghamton, where participants will have the unique opportunity to run alongside the elusive black-and-white ruffed lemurs, Menabe and Rizzo.
Loop the Lemur: Racing for Conservation
The Ross Park Zoo, the fifth oldest zoo in the nation, is home to Menabe and Rizzo, who often greet visitors as they enter the zoo. However, as the zoo closes, they are left wondering why they only get to see visitors once. In response to this, the Inaugural Ross Park Zoo Loop the Lemur was born.
Scheduled for May 18, 2024, the Loop the Lemur race offers three different events: the Loop the Lemur 6 Hour, Loop the Lemur 2 Hour, and Loop the Lemur 1 Hour, allowing participants of all abilities to join in the fun. Runners can choose to run, walk, skip, or even do the "Lemur Shuffle" around the .8-mile loop inside the zoo. Additionally, there is a one-loop kids race available to encourage our youth!
Join the Fun and Make a Difference
All participants will receive a custom Loop the Lemur shirt, a custom medal, and access to the Tail-Gate Party presented by Brooks, where food, beverages, live music, and celebrations await. Registrants are encouraged to sign up by May 1 to guarantee their shirt on race day.
Keep Grinding Coffee Company is proud to support this event, and a portion of the proceeds will go back to The Ross Park Zoo in support of their efforts for the conservation of endangered species, including the black-and-white ruffed lemurs.
Join Keep Grinding Coffee Company Running Club
To prepare for the race, Keep Grinding Coffee Company has launched a running club on Tuesday nights at the Vestal Rail Trail. All are welcome to join and train for the Loop the Lemur race while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow runners.
