What efforts are you making to hire a more diverse and inclusive team?
What have you done to create an inclusive and vibrant culture for your staff?
Confluence Running is committed to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion that extends far beyond the confines of the running world. We recognize that true diversity encompasses more than just athletic accomplishment, which is why we intentionally craft our job applications and descriptions to focus less on running and more on the desire to make a difference. By doing so, we aim to attract individuals who may not identify as runners but are passionate about leveraging their skills to contribute positively to our team and community.
Furthermore, our commitment to diversity is exemplified through our efforts to connect with each staff member on a personal level, demonstrating acceptance and appreciation for their unique identities and backgrounds. Whether they are part of the LGBTQ community, avid climbers, or individuals with varying levels of fitness experience, we embrace and celebrate the diversity within our team. While running may be a shared passion among many of us, our team comprises individuals with diverse interests and abilities, united by a collective dedication to excellence and inclusivity.
Moreover, our commitment to diversity extends to our internship program, where we actively recruit students from Binghamton University, including those from the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and the Services for Students with Disabilities department (SSD). By engaging with the SSD & EOP programs, which supports students from underrepresented backgrounds, we are not only providing valuable opportunities for professional growth but also fostering a more inclusive and equitable environment within our organization. Through these initiatives, Confluence Running strives to create a workplace where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to thrive, regardless of their background or identity.
