The Loop the Lemur Ultra Endurance Running Festival, held on May 18, 2024, at Ross Park Zoo, showcased remarkable endurance across several events, including a 1-hour, 2-hour, and 6-hour running event, along with a family-oriented Lemur to Leopard Fun Run.

In the 1-hour event, Monica Salva led the female participants with a total distance of 7 miles in 57:54 minutes, while Jesse Roy topped the male category by covering 7.7 miles in 56:56 minutes. The 2-hour event saw Cynthia Sorbello leading the females with 9.8 miles and Jason Goldman leading the males with 14 miles. The standout performance came in the 6-hour challenge where Eric Repp not only led the male category but also set a new course record by completing 40.6 miles. Cathryn Rizzuto was the top female runner in this event, covering 37.1 miles.

Participants were grouped into various age categories, demonstrating the inclusivity of the event that saw a range of ages from children participating in the fun run to seniors showing impressive endurance in longer events. The festival not only highlighted physical stamina and community engagement but also supported conservation efforts for the zoo's lemurs, merging fitness with wildlife conservation in a unique and impactful way.
