The 2025 Pond Hockey Trail Festival Races brought a surge of energy to Chenango Valley State Park this past weekend. Against the backdrop of light snow and a crisp 35°F, runners tackled the rugged 10k trail loop across 50k, 20k, and 10k races. With fans from the Binghamton Pond Festival cheering them on, participants braved the wintry conditions for an unforgettable event.

The festival atmosphere enhanced the race experience, featuring food trucks, spectators, and the iconic Pond Fest hockey games nearby. Runners circled back to the start/finish line after each loop to refuel with ultra-running staples like water, electrolyte drinks, and hearty aid station fare. For those who took on the ultra-distance 50k, mental toughness and endurance were key to completing the five-loop challenge.
