STAC's XC Championship Schedule

October 22nd, 2018 - (OWEGO, NY) – Tomorrow, the fastest 7 cross country runners from each high school in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference (STAC) will line up and face off during the STAC Cross Country Championships at Pheasant Hill Golf Course in Owego, New York. Cross Country Runners will race the 3.1 mile course around the course, completing several loop portions.
Earlier this year, MileSplit.com interviewed XC Runner Parker Stokes from Maine-Endwell High School. Stokes is one of the top seeded runners, not only in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference for Cross Country, but in New York State. Todd James, coach of Marathon Cross Country in Marathon, NY said that Stokes ran a top 15 all-time performance during the Marathon Invitational this past Sunday.

Matthew Francis Gawors is a lifelong endurance athlete. He specialized in the 800m in High School and switched to marathons in college. In 2009, he switched over to competing primarily in Triathlons. His passion and goal is to support the Binghamton community by improving their physical, emotional, and financial health through physical fitness events and tourism. He owns the running special store, Confluence Running, has worked as the Director of Parks, Recreation, and Youth Services for Broome County, and currently is employed by Binghamton University as the Aquatics Director for Health and Wellness Studies.
