Racing Into the Sunset: See the Exciting Sunset Runway 5K at Greater Binghamton Airport

Wow, what a night! The Sunset Runway 5K at the Greater Binghamton Airport was a massive success, and we couldn’t have asked for a better evening. With the sun setting across the tarmac, runners, walkers, and families came out to enjoy a unique and unforgettable race experience.

Race Highlights and Results

The race saw some incredible performances, with John Salva of Conklin, NY, taking home the overall win with a blazing time of 16:37. Close behind was Conner Smith from Vestal, NY, finishing in 16:57, and Jakob Getchell from Windsor, NY, rounding out the top three with 17:22.

On the women’s side, Samantha Snead from Blakely, PA, was the fastest female finisher with a time of 19:44, followed by Kristie McBride from Nichols, NY (21:08), and Lauren Castellucci from Apalachin, NY (21:27)​.

The top Masters finishers were John Evangelista for the men and Marci Shofkom for the women, both putting in stellar performances under the gorgeous sunset​.
