The first race of the series brought runners of all ages together for a day filled with fun, friendly competition, and community spirit. Teams like HUSTLE XC, Thilly Wabbit, and Team Confluence dominated the Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed Divisions, respectively, showcasing outstanding performances by top runners including Jordan Varano and Emily Miller. Unique moments, like the Bunny (played by Eliana Gawors) handing out carrots to lucky runners, added a playful touch, making this event memorable for everyone from kids to grandparents.

The series continues on October 13th at the Dave Panella Cyclocross Races in Greene, NY, offering more opportunities for teams to earn points and enjoy the excitement of cross-country racing. Racing Under the Lights: Highlights from the Owego Night Invitational | Dash in the Dark

The Owego Night Invitational brought an exciting twist to cross country racing, as athletes competed under the lights in a thrilling nighttime event. Ithaca dominated the Varsity Boys race, securing the top three spots, led by Riley Hubisz with an impressive time of 12:45. Teammates Noah Hilker and Everett Shaw followed close behind, helping Ithaca to a commanding team victory. Northeast Bradford’s Creed Dewing and Athens Area’s Graham Wanck also delivered standout performances, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.

Owego Free Academy's Sullivan O'Donnell led his team with a 14th place finish, while Vestal showcased their depth by placing four runners in the top 20. The unique atmosphere of the nighttime race, combined with fierce competition, made the inaugural Owego Night Invitational an unforgettable experience for athletes and spectators alike.

Sunset Runway 5K: Race Results, Highlights, and Event Recap

The Sunset Runway 5K at Greater Binghamton Airport delivered an unforgettable experience, with runners racing against a breathtaking sunset on the tarmac. The event was filled with excitement, from stellar performances by top finishers to fun family moments, all enhanced by the party atmosphere set by the band, If Madrid, and delicious treats from local food trucks. Special thanks to Dar from Southern Tier Balloon Tours for tethering his hot air balloon, adding a spectacular touch to the evening as participants enjoyed a unique view from above. We were also proud to support Advocates for Autism, Inc., with proceeds from the race going to this incredible cause.

Congratulations to all the winners, including John Salva and Samantha Snead, who claimed the top overall spots. 2024 Results of Loop the Lemur Ultra Endurance Running Event at the Ross Park Zoo

The inaugural Ross Park Zoo Loop the Lemur event invites participants to engage in a unique running experience alongside Menabe and Rizzo, the charming black-and-white ruffed lemurs of Ross Park Zoo, one of the nation's oldest zoos. Scheduled for May 18, 2024, the event features three time-based challenges: a 6-hour, 2-hour, and 1-hour run, where participants can circle the lemurs’ habitat, offering waves, selfies, and air high-fives to the lemurs. Each lap contributes to increasing lemur happiness and the possibility for runners to be immortalized in The Lemur Hall of Legends, where their photos will be displayed for the lemurs to remember until the next event. This event is open to all participants, regardless of ability, and also includes a family-friendly Lemur to Leopard Fun Run, ensuring a fun-filled day for everyone.
